Geo Polymer Eco Plaster
A Total Plastering Solution
Poljo and Sathya introduces 3000 years old ancient Eco friendly construction Technology “Geo Polymer based’ in India. A joint venture undertaking Poljo Vyapar Kendra Private Limited, Irinjalakuda & Sathya Envirotech LLP, Coimbatore.
Geo Polymer Technology Last For Many Millenium
Ever wondered how the ancient Mayan, Greco, Roman, Egyptian and Indian towering edifices, 200KM long aqueducts, arch-bridges, dams and huge domes could last for thousands of years with out steel reinforcement & cement. While cement concrete was invented only 120 years ago.

Egyptian Pyramind 4500 Years Old
Then what is the engineering secret of how huge blocks were fixed together in Egyptian pyramids, Great Wall of China, Sigiriya Fort in SriLanka, Kallanai Dam near Trichy in Tamilnadu, Madurai Meenakshitemple, Shree Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Trivadram Kerala, Qutubminar, TajMahal, etc, and how these are built to last for many millennium, almost forever. The great French Scientist Dr.Joseph Devidovits, father of Geo polymer researched on the secrets of longevity and strength of the above structures in the face of cruel natural calamities and vagaries of nature for thousands of years, rediscovering the key to the astounding technology, inspired by formation of molten rock in volcanic lava and re-agglomerated limestone which are fundamentally nature’s gift of Geopolymer materials. These hardened systematically through precipitating action of atmospheric Carbon Dioxide (CO2), forming calcium silicate hydrate compound. He actualy rediscovered this technology and developed a first geopolymer cement in 1978 as” Pyrament cement”. This is absolutely different from the conventional Portland Cement. He also formed the Geo Polymer Institute and sown the seeds for its future development.
Normally Polymers are either Organic or Inorganic chemistry based large molecules. Natural Rubber, Silk, Cellulose in cotton and wood. Hemoglobin in blood, Human and animal skins are some of the naturally occurring Organic polymers. Synthetic rubber, various plastics, synthetic textiles like polyester, nylon and host of other modern materials are Synthetic organic polymers. Wheras naturally occurring Inorganic polymers are various gem stones like Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Topaz ete. and Rocky formations like Granite, Marble, Slate, Laterite, Quartz ete. Synthetic Inorganic polymers are Silicone Polymers, Artificial diamond, Glass, Gypsum, Lime Mortar, Cement Concrete etc. None of these synthetic polymers match the strength and durability of naturally occurring Inorganic polymers. They also require a huge carbon foot print in their making in the form of energy and toxic gas emissions. These are not Eco friendly processes.
Now the Geo polymers technology has changed this scenario. Now it is possible to produce Geo polymer products that are comparable to natural Inorganic polymers like rock and gem stones, Due to this green technology advantage Geo polymer construction is expected to replace Cement based construction (Both OPC and PPC). Further Geo polymer gives higher durability and long lasting aesthetics that are not possible with cement.
Some of the projects in which Geo polymers are extensively used are Frankfurt International Airport, Germany In 2013, Brisbane, Australiain 2014, BWWA International Airport run way were builtfully with advanced heavy duty geopolymer concrete. Other recent Indian examples are (1) Mullaperiyardam (1890), (2)Delhi Metro Rail (2012) (3) NTPC Ramagundam Road, Telengana – 2016.

We at Sathya Envirotech LLP, Coimbatore have understood the need and potential for these products in India, Hence pioneered this Geo Polymer technology to suit Indian conditions and developed a range of products based on the locally freely available raw materials and minerals, that are currently finds little use or otherwise being wasted. To bring these products to the actual users, we have formed a Joint Venture with Poljo vyapar Kendra (P)Ltd. Irinjalakuda, kerala. Currently these products are available for public in India and abroad. We have given below the case history of some of the products.
Poljo Plasterwaala is a Eco friendly geo polymer plaster developed without cement, River sand or M sand.
